About the Artist
DARI WALKER

After finishing her education in languages and working on her
masters, Dari Walker felt compelled by the passion of her life:
sculpture.

The ample forms that she creates with the medium of warm wax,
later translated into bronze and poured stone, are a tribute to ample
women everywhere.

Inspired by the unabashed voluptuousness of her mother and sister,
her statues express joy and sensuality with a touch of whimsy and delight.

Dari  has been active in the Size Acceptance movement since 1996 with the creation of this series of statues,  Isabella and Friends.

She received her training at California State University of Long Beach and studied in Europe.

Awards received:

The National Association to Advance Fat Acceptance Award
( NAAFA) award in 1996.

The Fat Women's Group of London in 1996

comes this impressive collection of truly "statuesque" women sold by Isabella and Friends. Using poured stone with a faux bronze patina, artist Dari Walker has created a series of beautiful statues that are truly in a class of their own. Expressing a tremendous amount of energy and joy in their frozen grace, these creations are unabashedly feminine - and fat. Dari has been an active participant in the size acceptance movement since 1996, and also brings her artistic skills to her unique line of BBW jewelry and this stunning wall plaque titled "Serena."
